2008 November > Renewed Strength Fundraising Ride
It was a spectacular sight to see Dee Miller ride into a crowd of her close friends, family and a community proud of her after an exhilarating but exhausting 100-day bike journey across Ontario. Anxious and hopeful, Miller took a leap of faith to raise money for Renewed Strength, a charity formed to provide strength and mobility training to individuals recovering from chemotherapy, radiation therapy and/or cancer surgery. Among those welcoming Miller back home were her mother Bev who has been with her throughout her entire journey, Ajax Mayor Steve Parish, who kicked off the 100-day bike ride with Dee Miller and representatives from the local charities that have been supported by Miller. Also greeting Miller back in Ajax were two tables jammed packed with gifts from all the towns and cities she had stopped by on her trip. On her arrival back, all Miller had to say was "It was a fabulous experience meeting new people. I knew I could do it and I would do it again."
