Herizon House celebrated the grand opening of a new second-hand store located in Pickering Village at 566 Kingston Rd. (just east of Church) on Saturday September 27th. A VIP reception was held for donors, staff and volunteers with placement of honourary field stones and an afternoon tea hosted by Victorian Tea Salon: Tea Granny and Friends. With the Hearts of Durham thirty-five board members and both Ajax Mayor Steve Parish and Pickering Mayor Dave Ryan on board, the event was a great success. Located in Ajax, Herizon House is a shelter for abused women and their children. They offer free confidential services 24 hours a day. Please call 905-426-1064 ext 2223 to drop off any donations.
