The Movies without Borders foreign film series will screen movies in other languages with English subtitles. Here's an opportunity to engage in conversation with people from other countries and share experiences while enjoying examples of foreign cinema.
Water (2005: Hindi) In 1938 colonial India, 8-year-old Chuyia is widowed and sent to a home where Hindu widows must live out their lives in penitence. Her feisty presence affects the lives of the other residents, including a beautiful young widow who falls in love with a Gandhian idealist.
Movies without Borders is presented in partnership with Community Development Council Durham’s Host program in Main Branch’s Rotary Room.
