Ajax Knights Rally Behind Church
The All Saints Church in downtown Whitby was the possible victim of arson and suffered major damage before Xmas. The church lost all of its charity baskets that had been put together for needy families in Ajax and Whitby.
Ajax Knights Minor Midget AE Hockey Team Head Coach Jim O'Hara and Assistant Coach Ken Sherman, both Ajax Firefighters along with team Trainer Chuck Muir a Toronto Firefighter saw the opportunity to teach the boys an important lesson in teamwork and asked the team to help a neighbour in need
and put together donations of food and toys to present to the church. MPP Christine Elliot, a long time member of the church, hosted the boys at her office and expressed her gratitude on behalf of the Church for the donations the team collected and spent some time telling the boys how the food will help the needy families and gave them an open invitation to come and visit her in Queen's Park.
