Lights of Hope First Annual Charity Gala
The Tamil Cultural and Academic Society held their first charity gala last month. Lights of Hope is the creation of Raveena Rajasingham and stems from her passion to give back to the community in which she lives. The gala fundraising event benefits the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre and the Rouge Valley Health System Foundation and on this evening both were presented with a cheque for $5,000.00. It was a who's who of dignitaries that attended the event at the Ajax Convention Centre and all extended their thanks for the philanthropic work that the Tamil Cultural and Academic Society of Durham does.
