A Celebration of Black History

A special celebration of Black History was held at J. Clarke Richardson Collegiate last month - Black History Month - bringing together members of the community to share in an afternoon of cultural expression through music, dance, story sharing and more. The free event, co-sponsored by the DDSB, Cultural Expressions, the Town of Ajax, Durham Black Educators’ Network, Royal Bank of Canada, Durham Regional Police and State Farm Insurance Martin Lee Agency, featured performances by Cadence Dance Academy, Role Model Records’ new spoken word/rap album Glass House, the WSK Drummers, vocalist Lavinia Celaire, and a keynote address by John Russell, Co-CEO of RBO Solutions.
